| Description: | This was taken in the middle of Iceland. It's pretty rough terrain and there isn't much living there except a few tiny flowers trying to eek out an existance. The "roads" are gravel and in areas like a washboard. I was quite surprised, however, to see a couple bicyclists chugging along. It's certainly not the place to be if one has car or bicycle trouble since there aren't any houses and Road Service is non-existant. I doubt that a cell phone would even operate.
I had a bit of a time "photo merging" these files since the light was ever changing. So, it isn't perfect, but it does give you an idea of what the "middle" of Iceland looks like.
Iceland's population is 295,000 with 275,000 living in the capital of Reykajvik. The other 20,000 live mostly around the coastline areas. |
